For sale is a rare, vintage 1980’s, original MTV logo appliqué. This MTV logo was originally conceptualized by three young graphic designers, Pat Gorman, Frank Olinski, and Patti Rogoff, who had set up shop in a tiny room in New York City’s Greenwich Village under the moniker Manhattan Design. MTV was first launched on Saturday, August 1, 1981, with the phrase,”Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll.”

I was told that this “patch” was originally on one of the jackets from an MTV television show in the 1980’s.

It is very well-made and the colors are vibrant. It measures about 71/4 inches across and 6 1/2 inches long.
