PLEASE NOTE: Some pictures were taken with the flash & others were taken in the natural light. I had a tough time trying to show the details because the satin takes on shadows & different lighting as most of you know, but I didn't. Please keep this in mind when viewing my pictures & what you may think is a spot/stain might very well not be. I thoroughly checked this dress & I apologize if I may have missed anything. It also has the smell of cedar with being in our cedar chests all these years, so it does need to be cleaned & pressed.
This dress was in mint condition until my Mom loaned it to a lady at her church to wear in a fashion show & the lady didn't take care of it & never had it cleaned after she got some spots & make-up on it....what a shame! The dress was made by my Granny who was a professional seamstress back in the days & I was told it was very hard to get 'satin' then because of WWII, but somehow Granny managed to get it. The 3rd picture shows my mom & Dad on their wedding day in 1945. The dress has a side zipper that I showed in my pictures, open & closed. Each sleeve has 3 pearl buttons at the tip of the wrist. The shoulders have a couple of pleated folds with a very small shoulder pad in each shoulder sleeve. It appears to me that they can be easily removed, but I don't sew. Another picture shows the hand stitched hem. The last 5 pictures are the areas that have the spots or make-up on them.
I also have my wedding dress from 1967-68 listed & I'm always happy to combine shipping whenever possible.
