This is for an original ticket stub from the July 4 1948 baseball game played between the New York Yankees and Washington Senators at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Early Wynn would pitch the entire eight innings for the Senators but would end up taking the loss. Phil Rizzuto would supply most of the Yankees offense with a two run single in the bottom of the sixth scoring Johnny Lindell and Snuffy Stirnweiss and then walking in the eighth before being doubled to third by Tommy Henrich and scoring on a sacrifice fly by Yogi Berra for a 6-5 lead which would be held down by Joe Page with his 12th save of the year. Joe DiMaggio would single in the fifth inning for his 1,745th career hit of 2,214. Yogi Berra’s sacrifice fly RBI in the eighth would be RBI number 100 of his career. The stub has some spotting on the back but displays nice on the front. A ton of statistical history in just a single Yankee stub. A must have for any ticket collector.
