A vintage wind-up tinplate Ko-Ko Sandwich Man, dressed

in yellow jacket, red & white striped trousers, red tin hat and

shoes, with hat, metal cane (missing), and “Eat at Joe’s”

cardboard sign, made in Japan by the Nomura

Toys (T.N) Co. in the 1950’s or 1960’s.

In very good condition, the clothes have

lost some colour, but the tinplate is clean and free

from rust. Still has the original head, hat, plastic

nose, hands and shoes, just missing the metal

cane, and the clockwork action works pretty well.

It has a nice action with the Sandwich Man moving one

hand to remove and replace his hat, and the other to

move his walking cane up and down, while his nose

moves and he bends his knees and then straightens

them again. Marked with the Nomura Toys “T.N.”

Trade Mark and “Made in Japan” on the back of

his tinplate shoes and measures 7.5 inches tall.

A nice version of a vintage clockwork tinplate toy,

hard to find in any condition.
