About Us
My name is Robin Cassell FRPSL, and I have been collecting stamps and postal history for 40 years, half that time as a dealer, though I am still a collector at heart ! I have always specialised in the line-engraved stamps of Great Britain – the various states and cancellations both being specialities.
In the last ten years I have become a specialist in pictorial Victorian envelopes and in particular the Mulready Caricatures of the early 1840s. I am currently writing a book on the subject with my co-author Dr Richard Hobbs. It is being published by the Royal Philatelic Society and will be promoted at London2022. Any information readers have on these stunning and rare items, in particular used examples, is gratefully received, and any included in the book will of course get full acknowledgement.
In recent years I have expanded into other areas of philately and postal history, and a wide variety of collecting interests will be covered on my website.
With Scott Treacey, I co-founded The Mulready Group many moons ago, I am a Fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society (RPSL), I am Competitions Secretary of the Great Britain Philatelic Society (GBPS) and a member and former committee member of the Philatelic Traders Society (PTS). I also give talks to societies on Victorian Pictorial Envelopes.
