Antique Chinese Pair Enameled Bronze Blue & White Round Trinket Boxes; Up for sale is a pair of enameled bronze trinket boxes with hand painted scenes in blue and white, dated 19^th century or earlier.

The pair of trinket boxes in bronze or brass are matched with each other in shapes, sizes, and colors. Each trinket box with a base has two parts, a round bowl with a wider rim and a removable cover. The top of each cover was hand painted in blue color over a white background with two boys carrying likely cricket boxes who were either sitting or squatting on the surface of a rock against a background with a pine tree and rocks. Inside the cover was enameled in white background. The sides of both the cover and bowl were all painted with geometric motifs in combination with floral motifs in three medallions. Underneath was a sign with four Chinese characters “乾隆年製” (Qianlong era, 1735-1795) in regular script under glaze, indicating the time the pieces were made. However, we believed that both pieces were made in the later decades.

Measures: Dimensions, 2 ¼” wide (across widest parts) x 1 1/8” high x 1 ¼” base diameter; Total weight for two pieces, 4.3 oz (~122 grams).

Condition: Very good and clean, without enamel loss, but with tiny manufacturing defects.
