Please read this in its entirety so you will choose the correct bulb as I do not accept returns.

This bulb is a 6S6 Candelabra base twelve volt, half amp bulb. In series with 200 or 220 ohm resistor which heats due to current draw. When the bulb burns out a lot of people will replace with a night light bulb. It looks the same and it will light up, but no heat. This bulb is accessed from the underside of the machine. These are used in the earlier machines like the base shown in the third picture.

Notice if you have heat and no lamp lit, your machine has been rewired and this bulb will burn out.

In this case use a night light bulb.

ALL BULBS ARE PRETESTED TO ASSURE THEY ARE NOT DUDS.

To my knowledge there are five lamps used by L & R in their Cleaning machines.

The first is a 6S6 Candelabra base twelve volt, half amp bulb in series with 200 or 220 ohm resistor which heats due to current draw. When the bulb burns out a lot of people will replace with a night light lampIt looks the same and it will light up, but no heat. This bulb is accessed from the underside of the machine. These are used in the earlier machines.

The following are accessed from the top by unscrewing the red lens

Next is the most popular number #41 bulb. It’s a two and a half volt; half amp miniature screw in base bulb wired in series with a 220 ohm resistor or a 200 ohm resistor.

Next is a #43 lamp it is also a two and a half volt; half amp miniature bayonet  base lamp.

The next bulb is a number #46 miniature screw in base bulb. It draws one fourth of an amp so it has a resistor wired in parallel to it so the current draw is enough to make heat. If the bulb burns out, there will still be heat, but not very much. The #46 bulb is sometimes replaced with a #41 bulb which causes excess heat and can cause the heat resistor to fail.

All of the above mentioned bulbs act as a fuse as well as an indicator that  the heat  is on.

Last is the neon NE51 bulb. It has a bayonet base. This is a very long life bulb and they are wired in parallel to the heat resistor. If they burn out and they will, there isn’t an indicator that the heat is on except for the position of the switch.

For safety always replace with the correct bulb.

I do not accept returns on bulbs.
