All transformators on sale from me are tested. They comes mainly from various electronic of the 1970's and 1980's. The best advise when looking to replace a defective transformator is 1st the voltage the closest to your requirement (1 or 2 volt is not a big deal in most cases), and the fixations holes distance. The voltage is easy to measure but the output current (in Amps or Milliamps) is harder to figure. The size of the case gives an idea, according to it's voltage. The weight can be as well a good factor to compare when you're looking a replacement. Of course, matching with exact part number is optimal. For the current, it is always better to have slightly more, than less.
