what you see is what you are really getting. These are in Raw cut, which means how they came off the sawmill. They will need to be flattened and sanded to your finishing preference.
Dark lines? During the drying process Olive wood will turn dark. I make one pass through the drum sander to expose the beauty of the wood. not all sawmill lines are removed from one pass.

Olive Wood Blank Burl Figured Scales Turning Carving 200 yr old salvaged logs.I salvaged these Manzanillo Olive logs from central coast California and they are flat gorgeous.
I mill them myself with my sawmill, no middle man. I use a lot of the wood myself and sell some to other woodworkers for a reasonable price.
1 1/8"thick. I wiped them down with a wet rag to show the grain.
This is on a resin mold (not included) that is 12"x24" to give you an idea of size.
If you have never worked with Olive wood you are going to love it. even though it is one of the hardest hardwoods it grows so slow which makes it very dense and heavy so it is wonderful to sand and finish. very forgiving and beautiful.
