  • Beschreibung: Nach einer Vorlage von David Joseph Bles (1821 Den Haag - 1899 ebd.). In friedvoller Atmosphäre zeigt sich dieses Genrebild in der Kammer eines Paares. Neben dem prasselnden Kaminfeuer sitzen Vater und Mutter an der Wiege ihres Neugeborenen und sehen beglückt hinein. Der Vater spielt auf einer Geige wohl ein ruhiges Schlaflied für den Sprössling.

  • Description: After a model by David Joseph Bles (1821 The Hague - 1899 ibid.). In a peaceful atmosphere, this genre painting shows the chamber of a couple. Next to the crackling fireplace, father and mother sit at the cradle of their newborn child and gaze happily into it. The father is probably playing a quiet lullaby for his offspring on a violin.
