Darunter befindet sich eine Bezeichnung mit dem Namen des Dargestellten, dessen Titel sowie vermutlich dem Datum der Ausführung des Gemäldes im Jahre 1645. Darunter befindet sich der Hinweis auf die Vorlage von "Vandyke", die sich in der Sammlung des Earl of Egremont befindet. Darunter ist eine Bezeichnung mit Verweisen auf den Verlag Harding & Lepard in Pall Mall, London zu sehen sowie eine Datierung auf 1827.

Below this is an inscription with the name of the sitter, his title and presumably the date of execution of the painting in 1645. Below this is a reference to the original of "Vandyke", which is in the collection of the Earl of Egremont. Below this is a designation with references to the publishers Harding & Lepard in Pall Mall, London, and a date of 1827.
