Time was when, if you went to a convention, the name tags were clever and thoughtful, not just a generic piece of plastic in which somebody slid your name. This is one such, from a Grain Dealers convention. The front, in the shape of an ear of corn, shows a train unloading at a grain elevator. But the piece is hinged with a pair of rings: flip it open and, on the top is a plug for the Grain Dealers Fire Insurance Co. of Indianapolis. The bottom carries the name of the attendee, in this case J. E. McCreery of Mason City, Illinois. The name is just attached with some adhesive and would easily come off it you so chose.

This is made of celluloid and measures 3 1/2” x 7/8”. It is intact and undamaged. There's a pin at the top. And it comes with a piece of string. I believe this was threaded in some way where either you or the person you were facing could pull the string to reveal your name and affiliation.
