Huge 20" heavy stoneware Antique C. 1870 London & General Water Purifying Co. Decorative Stoneware Filter.

A wonderful example of ingenuity of the Victorian Age!  Still could be used today!  Perfect for preppers!

However it can also be a beautiful decorative conversation piece!  It could even possibly be repurposed into something else of your imagination.

This device was patented by F.H. Danchell in the late 1800s.  Heavy at approximately 45 pounds, it is all one piece except the small filter cup that sits in the neck of this filter.  The bottom is also perforated to allow the water to flow through.  Bits of carbon were present inside the filter and  this is how the water was filtered that resulted in much safer water.

It's about 20" in diameter and app. 13" high.
