Uncirculated 1982 D mint copper/bronze transitional that appears to be a small date with a double die with raised metal lumps on the eight and two. Look closely at the two and eight in the photos. A of the date, mint and some other lettering is doubled almost directly on top with raise or twisted extra metal. 2 is doubled with a raised cud (Blob) on the top portion as is the 8, the 9 has a bit of a twist to its appearance. There is raised metal on other numbers, letters and mint mark. Photos shows straight lines across the small date (refer to photo with magnifier) the mint mark is also doubled or rpm that is mostly filled and a bit leaning. There is doubling on the obverse and reverse. I tried to enlarge it for your viewing and judgment. I think you can see it on the date. The O in the reverse ONE is very evident with doubling, also note the rim collar on the reverse you can see a doubling on the rim collar. Uncirculated red with very little or no aging. A transitional coin in a pre-replaced die stage? As you can see in the photos the weight of the penny, no doubt that it is not a copper coated zinc. Small date with doubling? Looks that way to me. Very nice 1982 D penny with double die error lettering, date, mint collar rim. Many errors on a very nice red top grade penny. No risk buying. All my items are money back guaranteed to exactly what you see in the photos. As most collectors know, a small date 1982 D copper in itself is the extreme in rarities with DDO DDR with date cuds. Investment red high-grade penny with a new find error. Shipping options are available.
