Prelude:
Some time ago I was informed by a good friend about a "spectacular two owner original Z/28" that the proprietor was considering parting ways with.
Being picky and unfortunately skeptical resulted in me venturing out to verify what was relayed.
However, once that time came the vintage Bow Tie spoken of far exceeded my expectations!
"Let me say at this point".
If you have been searching for a gorgeous factory original Z/28 (that's accident free & essentially unmolested) "this gem might do the trick"!

It is true to form as evidenced by the cowl tag.

Matching # block = 3970010 (1980 Camaro Z-28 / 350 engine)!
To make matters even better this Z left the factory with a four speed manual transmission!
The original owner explained in detail just how much his wife struggled with operating it.
Unbelievably in the spring of 1984 he paid Butler Chevrolet to unfasten the manual shift.
Afterwards Team Cedar Point was called upon to supplant the newly rebuilt 350 automatic turbo transmission (current component)!

The factory clutch pedal was left in place (easy to transfer if so desired)!
Nonetheless this Z/28 has all the boxes checked! 
However, they’re many other reasons to consider adding it to your collection.
Hemmings, Bureau of Certified Auto Appraisers & other authorities have listed the (1980-1981) "authentic Chevrolet Camaro Z/28" as one of the fastest appreciating Stallworth on the collect car circuit!
ORIGINAL "CERTIFIED" (black & red) combo cars are bringing an average higher premium of 29-37 percent!
AGAIN IT IS IMPORTANT TO VERIFY THE COWL TAG (THEREFORE CONFIRMING) ATRUE BLACK/RED Z CAR!
Of all the colors offered (on original Z/28) it was the only combination GM chose to be featured in their factory sales brochure & tv commercial!
This one is also an original Mid-West machine that has stood the test of time.
There's even evidence of it receiving the Ziebart protection package in the early 80's.
The overall quality & condition is certainly noteworthy!
After being manufactured at the Norwood assembly plant it was delivered to Johnny Londoff Chevrolet in St. Louis Mo.
Mr. Fitzpatrick & his wife enjoyed the car for 17 years.
His career actually called for him to relocate in the Northeast.
A relatively short notice required local sheltering for the Camaro.
Consequentially the perfect resting place happened to be in his sister’s garage.
Here (the Z/28) would sit for over a decade without being utilized.
Up to speed:
Sometime in 2017 his son took it out of hibernation and a mild restoration began.
Order of the day "first it was off to the paint shop".
Here the original lacquer material would be stripped away from its outer shell.
Thankfully being accident free & protected minimal body treatment was needed.
After being properly prepped and scrutinized for quality "several fresh coats of *GBA* Raven Black Corvette Z06 (code WA672) was laid down! 
The base coat clear paint addition is simply STUNNING (front to rear)!!!!
Compliments are always in order & "cell phone cameras flash constantly "once the car cover is lifted!!!
A GLOSS MIRROR LIKE REFLECTION IS PRESENTED AT ANY GIVEN TIME OF DAY!
AT DUSK IT ALMOST LOOKS WET!
Delightful in sun or shade! 
Each panel falls in accordance with GM factory tooling expectations.
The sleek contour of the body is further accentuated by the contrast provided via (STN-38) Chevrolet stripe package!
Crimson red bands blaze a trail around the total circumference of the vehicle.
Up top there's also a factory banner that encompasses the hood induction scoop.
An iconic Z/28 badge informs passersby the legendary name on the fuel door.

Upon opening the door of this Z car you'll find the original virgin interior!
A collection of beautiful Carmine red deluxe sport buckets & matching rear bench can easily be detected.
The upholstery is comprised of high grade vinyl and fine stitched fabric.
There's a luxury performance stripe encrypted vertically on the plane that provides the perfect touch!
Folding the seats forward you’ll find perfect seat backs as well! 
The interior quarter trim panels are in magnificent condition! 
Tucked beneath the wing chairs you'll find the stock ebony colored carpet.
GM floor mats shield the floor from debris.
The cockpit contains a stylish original center console with stainless ashtray.
From right to left there's a matching set of opulent Chevrolet Camaro door panels. 
Both are in excellent condition!
The arm rest, door cups, window cranks & attaching hardware have all been refurbished.
Up front lies an ensemble of factory gauges and perfectly situated dash pad. 
An original rufescent red show quality Z/28 steering wheel!
The headliner & package tray are in perfect condition!
All & all the interior compliments the exterior wonderfully “fan favorite”!
Making our way back outside:
Once the lid of this incredible Z/28 is lifted you’ll find a factory stout 5.7 (unmolested) engine block! 
The power plant has only endured a 77k actual miles!
The motor has very impressive horse power & the transmissions torque ratio values are noteworthy!
This set up has received a litany of preventative maintenance.
IE: Plugs, wires, cap rotor, radiator flush, water pump, alternator, starter, fly wheel, thermostat and too much more to list!
The hoses, belts & lights have all been replaced as well.
There has been a host of new brake components & suspension parts installed as well.
She has a clean bill of health! 
Dual exhaust protrude from the rear of this classic car & chambered performance exhaust sing a sweet note once the pedal is mashed!

You may find another but you will be hard pressed to find another one like this!
