This colourful set looks at the ways we have shared information with each other and who knew there were so many! Included are carrier pigeons, the Rosetta Stone which its scratched messages, the telephone, papyrus, Morse code, semaphore, cave paintings, a herald, printing press, town-crier, jungle drum, shorthand, newspaper, railway, heliograph, radar and even Romany signs and the Temple's ox-horn. Obviously this set was issued long before the growth of social media which doubtless accounts for much of our communication these days, but surprisingly neither radio or television are present in this series. The backs give plenty of information on the subject and these cards were also issued by Amalgamated Tobacco in 1961. An interesting set with cards size 68 x 36mm
