For sale is a fun piece - a figural pastille or incense burner made by Niderviller around 1800. The one here is of a gentleman figurine - presumably the husband of the matching lady figure I also have on the site. He is dressed in a Turkish / Ottoman Empire sort of dress with a hat covering his head while holding a pipe i both hands and a bundle of some sort by his feet on on a rock work base with the gold trim around the edge which is typical for this maker. From what I can see on the inside the smoke from the incense would come out of both the ipe bowl as well as a tiny hole in his mouth. The incense part can be seen from the back where there is an opening under his dress with a little pin on the bottom to stick the pastille on.
