*I acquired this at the Tarzana estate sale of Jran Carroll, a veteran teacher, likely at a West San Fernando Valley high school.

In his Foreword, Al Porter, Instructional Specialist - Art, Los Angeles City Unified Art District, laments the fact that drawing "has been sadly neglected in the school curriculum." He then makes the case for its importance in instilling confidence and helping students channel their creativity. Teacher Gerald F. Brommer answered the call with this splendid overview of drawing in its many aspects. It is presented like a series of accessible, informative, and stimulating lessons, and the images he has chosen to demonstrate his points are excellent. I took a very good art class in high school and thoroughly enjoyed it, and my doodling improved greatly. This book would be a great edition to any high school student who wants to improve their ability to draw, which is the basis of most art.

There are 2 matching copies on eBay with cover photos, neither signed. The better one is very good for $8.00 + $4.73 shipping.

My Buy-It-Now price of $14.99 includes shipping bubble-wrapped in a cardboard box via media mail, which takes around 7 days with tracking, half that in SoCal.
