Against the odds: How Vogue Ukraine became part of the resistance
Vogue Ukraine’s return to print this month for the first time in a year is a remarkable triumph over adversity. Working from shelters and often without power as Russian bombs rained down on Kyiv and other cities, the magazine’s team managed to pull together to keep the title going and bring out a new commemorative edition featuring profiles of people from all walks of life contributing to the resistance.

У квітні команда Vogue Ukraine Edition представляє свій перший випуск із початку повномасштабного вторгнення в Україну.
Він присвячений незламності українців та внесення кожного та кожної у нашу спільну перемогу. А також важливою темою: як підтримувати себе у цій боротьбі.
На колекційній обкладинці – робота постійної контриб'юторки журналу, київської фотохудожниці Василини Врубльовської. Абстрактне кольорове зображення є частиною серії "Сад нічого" (The Garden of Nothing), який Врублевська знімає у подорожах краю останнього року.
Український Vogue
виходить друком вперше від початку повномасштабного вторгнення. За цей час єдність та згуртованість стали суперсилою українців, якою захоплюється світ. Щоб нагадати, що шлях до перемоги — спільна справа, що кожен крок та внесок — цінний і помітний, перший друкований Vogue часів повномасштабної війни в Україні з любов'ю, повагою і вдячністю фіксує історію свого народу у словах та образах.

ви знайдете на сторінках випуску: це професійні військовики і добровольці, волонтери і медики, художники та письменники, фотографи і дизайнери, політики і дипломати, правозахисники та артисти, працівники ДСНС та Укрзалізниці. Вони боронять нас на передовій, представляють Україну в Совбезі ООН, на бієнале у Венеції, на сцені Карнеґі-голу, на Олімпійських іграх та Каннському кінофестивалі. Вони рятують, оперують, гасять пожежі після обстрілів, обслуговують потяги, пишуть книжки, дають концерти — щоб зібрати кошти для тих, хто боронить, рятує і лікує.

знаковий випуск містить ексклюзивні інтерв'ю та світлини тих, хто творить історію нової України: від першої леді Олени Зеленської і очільника ГУР Кирила Буданова, льотчика Karaya і парамедикині Тайри, письменника Сергія Жадана і співачки Джамали до рятувальників ДСНС і провідниці Укрзалізниці Ірини Юрченко. THE FIRST PRINTED ISSUE OF VOGUE UA SINCE THE START OF THE WAR
In April, the Vogue Ukraine Edition team presents its first issue since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
It is dedicated to the invincibility of Ukrainians and the contribution of each and every one to our joint victory. And also to an important topic: how to support yourself in this struggle.
On the collector's cover is the work of the magazine's permanent contributor, Kyiv-based photo artist Vasilina Vrublevskaya. The abstract color image is part of the series "The Garden of Nothing", which Vrublevskaya has been filming while traveling around the region for the past year.
Ukrainian Vogue
is published for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. During this time, unity and cohesion became the superpower of Ukrainians, admired by the world. To remind you that the path to victory is a joint effort and that every step and contribution is valuable and noticeable, the first printed Vogue of the time of the great war in Ukraine records the history of its people in words and images with love, respect, and gratitude.
More than 50 heroes
you will find on the issue pages: professional soldiers and volunteers, doctors, artists and writers, photographers and designers, politicians, diplomats, and human rights defenders. Еmployees of the State Emergency Service and Ukrzaliznytsia. They defend us on the front lines, representing Ukraine at the UN Security Council, the Venice Biennale, the Carnegie Hall stage, the Olympic Games, and the Cannes Film Festival. They rescue, operate, put out fires after shelling, maintain trains, write books, and give concerts — to raise funds for those who defend, rescue, and treat.
This
iconic issue contains sincere exclusive interviews and photos of those creating the new Ukraine's history. From the first Lady Olena Zelenska and the Chief of the Defence Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov. Pilot Karaya and paramedic Tyra. Writer Serhiy Zhadan and singer Jamala. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service and stewardess of Ukrzaliznytsia Iryna Yurchenko. Despite the new reality, Ukrainian Vogue did not betray itself: this issue is about beauty and inspiration. In it — the project of modern Ukrainian artists "Art on the Battlefront". And a friend of Ukraine, Sean Penn, talks about his experience of the war and his work on the film "Superpower."
