The JJC Z P14 42 self retaining lens cap is a lens cap that opens and closes automatically. You screw the lens cap onto the front of the lens to protect against scratches and dirt.
The lens cap has blades that open automatically when you extend the lens, so you don't have to remove the lens cap before use. When you retract the lens, the blades close again automatically. Because you don't need to remove the cap, you don't lose it and can start shooting immediately.
