Christopher H. Martin, born in 1969 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a self-taught American artist renowned for his innovative approach to acrylic and canvas mediums. Starting his artistic journey in 1994 in Dallas, Texas, Martin's unique signature technique involves painting in reverse, utilizing acrylics on a clear sheet of acrylic to modernize the 14th-century "Verre Églomisé" method. In addition to his acclaimed paintings, Martin expanded his creative repertoire in 2006 by delving into Metallic Prints, resulting in twenty-two series and two hundred fifty-one photographs. Transitioning from a career in the financial retirement industry, Martin opened various studio/gallery locations in Dallas before establishing The Martin Lozano Gallery in Los Angeles and the Christopher Martin Gallery in Aspen, Colorado. His impressive commissions include Equinox of Dallas, The Ritz Carlton of Dove Mountain, and the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas, where his large-scale paintings adorn prominent spaces. Martin's international presence includes exhibitions in the Venice Biennale, Scope Basel in Switzerland, and a group show in Paris. Beyond his artistic endeavors, Martin is committed to philanthropy, supporting children and animal charities, and contributing to causes such as the American Red Cross through the sale of his series featuring 9/11 newspaper headlines painted with the U.S. flag. His dedication to both art and humanitarian efforts solidifies Christopher H. Martin's impact on the contemporary art scene.
