A superb Shelley Art Deco "Diamonds" 11772 Vogue shape tea trio. C.1930.

Pattern No 11787 Diamonds: Orange, black and green diamonds with grey bands and lines. Orange trim. White ground. Entered in pattern book during or after 1930.

The back stamp is the 1925-1940 green cartouche mark.

The shape of this tea trio is the Vogue shape which was only produced between 1930 & 1932.

Dimensions: diameter of cup footed base 46mm (1.75 inches) / diameter across top of cup 98mm (3.9 inches) / height of cup 63mm (2.5 inches) / diameter of saucer 140mm (5.5 inches) / side plate 164mm (6.5 inches).

Condition: The cup has a very difficult to find stress line which appears to be under the glaze as it is difficult to get your finger nail in to it. I have tried to photo this against a bright light but the line is extremely faint and can only just about be seen using a strong eye glass. As a result the "ping" is slightly dullened. Otherwise all 3 pieces are in very good clean condition with no other cracks, chips, visible crazing, rubbing or signs of wear. All paintwork / enamelling is in good order with no fading to the pattern. The saucer and side plate have a good true sound to them when lightly tapped.
