A Shelley Art Deco "Cornfield" Mode shape coffee/demitasse cup & saucer. C.1930.

Seconds ware pattern No 2110 Cornfield: Black print. Golden yellow cornfield flanked by grey trees and green grass. Orange flowers in the foreground. Grey woodland in the distance. Yellow sun between treetops. Two birds to the right of the scene. White ground. Green edges. Entered into pattern book during or after 1930.

The shape of this coffee cup & saucer is the Mode shape which was only produced between 1930 & 1932. 

The back stamp is the 1925-1940 green cartouche mark.

Dimensions: diameter of demitasse cup base 41mm (1.6 inches) / diameter across top of cup 71mm (2.75 inches) / height of cup 62mm (2.5 inches) / diameter of saucer 120mm (4.75 inches).

Condition: Both pieces are in very good clean condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or rubbing. Minor glaze imperfections as associated with any seconds ware pattern. All paintwork / enamelling is in very good order with no fading to the pattern. Both pieces have a very good "ping" to them when lightly tapped.
