The Grundig Signal 700 multi band radio was made in Germany between 1974 and 1976 only and is consequently a very rare item and, due to its reputation, a much sought after one too.

See final pic for a screenshot for more details.

I can only find one other for sale and thats in Australia for over £170.

This example is from a house clearance so I don't know its history but for a 50 year old radio its in great cosmetic order with an intact aerial and carrying strap.

Its got a lovely sound and works on mains and batteries (theres no mains lead with it but I did borrow one to test it, its a figure of 8 type).

There is however an issue with the waveband control; its fine on FM afc, FM and MW but is temperamental on SW and LW, once locked on to a band it tunes as it should but you have to turn the switch a few times to get it to do so.

(I presume that like so many radios it spent most of its life tuned to one station so the control probably needs the contacts cleaning?)

This issue is reflected in an asking price of only 50% of the cost of the only other I can find for sale.

Please take a look at my other items for more vintage audio and other bygone curios.
