For auction is this lovely vintage Music Box from Germany. It is an unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features 2 girls being busy with gardening work They are surrounded by flowers and birds. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in the former East Germany by the famous company "Wendt & Kuhn". When the music plays, the inner pole with the birds rotates.

The musical movement is a swiss THORENS movement. The sound is bright and clear and it plays very well: "Taler, Taler, du musst wandern". To wind it up, just turn the key on the side clockwise. There is a working stopper on the side, too.

The music box is in great condition, but unfortunately not complete: The bird in the center is missing both wings, three others are missing one. There are two leaves from the center missing, too. Other than that, it is gorgeous! The paint is bright and shiny. Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Nice vintage music box.

Dates to the early 1980s. Marked with the Erzgebirge/expertic label from that time period.

It measures about 8 1/2" tall and 5" wide.
