Item Details

A bit of a reluctant sale but recently a few uncommon guitars I was interested in came up for sale on the used market and the only way I could justify buying is by selling this one.

Nuno was the reason I learned to play guitar as a young teenager in the mid nineties and I always lusted after an N4, I have owned 90's N2's over the years but once I got my hands on an N4 I was surprised how different they were, the N4 feeling much more of a premium instrument with a different body size and neck profile etc., it wasn't just about the Stephen's Extended Cutaway and being made in the USA as I had at one point believed.

This particular example was manufactured in 1995 in what I believe was Washburn's Chicago Custom Shop (Where all USA N4's were made during that period). The materials feel premium with a lovely Swamp Ash body and really nice Dark Ebony fretboard, not something you see as often these days.

Subjective I know, but in my opinion a nice bonus is the fact it weighs just under 7lb, therefore super comfortable to play, particularly standing.

The guitar has just had a full setup ready for sale and is fitted with D'Addario 9-46 NYXL and is in standard tuning. It is in great condition especially considering it is now nearly 30 years old. There is some general play wear but no major dings or dents, the neck is free from any damage which for me is a deal breaker if it is something you feel when playing. There was no visible fret wear prior to having it setup but there were a few high spots that affected playability so the luthier has performed some fretwork but there is still plenty of life left in them and they are now nicely polished!

The original Bill Lawrence pickup had failed at some point (became very weak sounding) so a replacement was fitted. I will include the original should the buyer wish to possibly investigate if it could be repaired. Other than that to the best of my knowledge the guitar is as it left the factory.

It includes the original fitted case which protects the guitar well, it can be a little fiddly to close, you have to apply a little pressure to align the lid into the base whilst you apply the latches, not a major issue but thought it is worth mentioning.

If you have any questions feel free to send me a message but please take into consideration that I am not at this stage looking to reduce the price or take anything in part exchange. I am very much in the frame of mind that if it doesn't sell I will keep it and probably be glad I did down the line.

Packaging Information

It will be packaged well for delivery (plenty of experience shipping guitars) using outer packaging designed for guitars. Extra care will be taken in relation to the internal packaging to ensure the instrument is well protected, particularly the vulnerable areas such as angled headstocks etc.

Delivery Information

The guitar will be sent via UPS on a next working day service. Normally I can package and send the next working day following payment however I have specified a few days handling time as I currently have a number of items listed and will have to arrange packing / sending around my work commitments.

I will upload the tracking number as soon as the parcel is collected by the courier to allow you to track the delivery.

Due to the size of the parcel I would advise against selecting for it to be delivered to a collection point located in a small shop that typically has limited space to store parcels as it is possible the owner will refuse delivery resulting in the parcel being returned.

Thanks for looking, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message.
