For sale is a superb teapot with its lid made by Doccia in the late 18th to early 19th century . The pot is superbly modeled with a spout that has two putti / cherubs on it and a fancy handle that has two of them in relief as well. I have not seen that before. Both have a lot of gold trim to them as well. The lid has two pairs and two single putti / cherubs to it with some gold trim to the edge and finial. The main body is decorated with my favorite design by them - relief scenes that are hand painted with lots of nice detail. There is always a lot going on in them but the 3D effect makes it extra nice. There are two more pairs and two more single putti / cherubs by the spout and handle area. This here is an earlier version than I have had in polychrome with the colors not quite as bright
