Striped bass are native to the Atlantic coastline of North America from the St.Lawrence River into the Gulf of Mexico to approximately Louisiana. They migrate between fresh and salt water. Spawning takes place in fresh water. The striped bass is the state fish of Maryland, Rhode Island, and South Carolina, and the state saltwater (marine) fish of New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and New Hampshire.

GYOTAKU are considered a thoughtful gift and are believed to bring good luck not only to fishermen but business people as well. The process is fairly simple: Pigment is applied to a real fish. Then paper or cloth is carefully touched to the fish. The GYOTAKU is pulled and a mirror image results. Search for Gyotaku artist.
