Original WW2 British Battledress Trousers Second Pattern 40 Royal Signals

The finish to pockets, brass buttons etc suggest these are second pattern 40 battledress but the lack of belt loops and fastenings to the trouser cuffs suggest a movement towards the 40 utility pattern

In good used condition there is no label and with a couple of missing brass buttons (one replaced - see pics) and with a spare one now in the left hand trouser pocket by the London Buttons Ltd. The buttons for braces seem to have been moved to the outside of the waistband, presumably by the owner

The waistband has the name of Sgn, M, Starkey scored out and a now indistinct name added above

I've searched for moth holes, using white paper inside to show up small holes and have found none

These are of a very small size - waist measures to 24inch and inside leg of 25inches
I am listing these trousers with other items of kit - all of which are sized for a (by todays standard) diminutive soldier

Thanks for looking
