The metal leaves have a tarnish on them that can be removed if so desired. The surface under the leaves is shiny gold and can be seen in a couple of the photos where the tarnish has chipped off a tiny bit. Some people like the tarnish so we left it. The cord has electrical tape wrapped around part of it. Otherwise, this clock in clean, very good vintage condition and is ready for your adoration.
