Miami Beach at the height of the Art Deco movement was making a SPLASH on Miami's South Beach where Ocean Drive was popped with one hotel after another...you could reach out a window of one hotel and practically touch the other next door...it was a city built on the ocean...a SWANK and GLAM city at that...it is where so many tropical dreams come true...where people can leave their lives in Wichita or Alaska and come let your hairz down for a spell of salty sea air...the textiles reflected the designs of the hotels...they are Art Deco and mirrored many of the architectural designs of the period that were specific to South Beach...the sea shell look was very popular...leafy scrolls were deeply admired...and together they created some of. Here today to pay a visit after 80 something years.

This offering is for ONE unused unwashed unbelievable remnant of a very heavy upholstery cotton canvas...thick and nubby barkcloth...a scene of pure fantasy...I call it MERMAIDS LAIR...it has all the beauty of Art Deco with a sea shell leafy design that was a hallmark of Miami Beach design inspiration that was found literally all over South Beach...the iconic stainless steel marquees with big huge plaster reliefs in designs just like these as part of the architecture of the old hotels...the corner stones of the building bedecked with it...there is no place in the world like South Beach...it is always home to me. A rare fabulous minty Caribbean pastel aqua ground with flamingo pinks in every shade...merlot...with white accents with swirling lines in darker aqua meant to add a water feature ambiance...depicting movement of water...absolutely amazing sea shell fronds  Measures 24 inches wide x 51 inches long. I have another one also available. Would be fabulous as on a two sided pillow as an homage to South Beach with a big ole tropical design on one side and this on the other,.,.,.tied together with a deco brush fringe...you'd think you were back in South Beach 80- years ago.
