Matchlessantiques is offering collectors and smiths this Vintage Peck, Stow & Wilcox (PEXTO) Tinsmith's Candle Mold Stake that is in very good condition for its age. The Pexto stake plate IS NOT INCLUDED, but for display purposes only. This stake was made in East Berlin, Conn. by Peck Stow & Wilcox (who later became PEXTO). The company set the standard for tinsmith tools. This stake is faintly marked and "Peck Stow & Wilcox." are mostly gone, but the markings should read: "Peck Stow & Wilcox Co., East Berlin, Conn.". This stake has some use marks , but is still in great condition .

This stake made to fit into a tinsmith stake plate tapered hole. Candle mold stakes are invaluable in any sheet metal shop. New ones cost hundreds of dollars. This is a NO RESERVE auction.

The measurements are: length of top 27 1/2", face width 1 1/8",  height 10", weight 6 1/2 lb., post tapers from 5/8" to 1'.
