Up for sale is an ASSOS FUGU JACKET winter jacket in size XLG. I am an Assos fan and have been wearing their cycling gear since the late 80's. Any cyclist knows that Assos is hands down the best cycling clothing maker. The fit, form, function and durability is superb. The Assos Fugu Jacket is no longer in production; however, it does reign king as the warmest most effective winter jacket in very cold climates. This jacket has seen snow, sleet, blowing snow, etc. and it kept me warm and protected from the extreme cold. The Assos Fugu Jacket is hand made. The quality of the cut and stitching is in a league of its own. It's simply the best.
I am reluctantly selling this Fugu Jacket since I no longer have an appetite for cycling in very cold weather. My days of a cyclist no longer include very cold weather that would require this awesome legendary winter jacket.
I am the original owner and have taken very good care of this jacket. When I purchased it, it cost over $600.00 new. That was nuts! However, there was nothing that kept me warm and protected like this jacket did. This jacket just works! This jacket has seen some very cold weather and it impressed me. It passed all the tests. It has been up and down the Colorado mountains, the Le Col du Galibier and other mountains in France and some nasty negative windy temperatures in North Dakota. This jacket today remains the warmest and most protective winter jacket Assos has ever made. Yes, even better than the Assos Equipe RS Johdah Winter Jacket S9 Targa that costs $750.00.
This Assos Fugu winter jacket is in pristine condition, with no rips, tears, stains or stinks. All zippers are
functioning and smooth. I only hand washed this jacket and let it hang dry to assure longevity. If you take care of your gear, your gear will last and take care of you. You will not be disappointed in the condition of this jacket or its performance. There are no issues with this jacket.
Some Tech info on the Fugu Jacket from Assos: It's rated for temperatures of 20-40 degrees Fahrenheit with an absolute minimum
of volume. Giving you total freedom of movement was also a top priority,
as was the ability to regulate your body temperature. The outer-layer
of the FuguJack is made from Assos' legendary Airblock 851 fabric in
order to provide you with total wind protection. Bomb down a descent on a
frigid day and you'll be amazed at how none of the icy air seeps to
your skin via the traditional-jacket-weak-points — collar, chest, and
the fronts of the arms. Instead, the Airblock 851 material acts as an
impenetrable force field against the cold.

NOTE #1: The jacket that is up for sale is the first iteration and only has the two side pockets. It does not have the single back pocket (similar to a back pocket of a cycling jersey). The back pocket was added at the later iterations of the Fugu Jacket.
NOTE #2: Assos runs about one size small. I typically wear a large in other cycling apparel. Please be sure you are purchasing the correct size. There are no returns and this jacket is being sold as is. There is no warranty or exchange from me. However, Assos did offer a limited lifetime warranty at the time. So if something were to happen to the jacket, a call to Assos may net an acceptable warranty outcome. Today, Assos has since changed their warranty to two years. Check out the Assos website for sizing or if you are near a bike store that sells Assos clothing, try some on to verify your size. Assos is consistent across the board on their sizing.
