Dryopteris Cristata The King is an evergreen fern of arching, bushy, erect habit. It is a medium sized, moderately fast growing plant perfect for beds and borders and containers and achieves a height and spread of around 120cm x 120cm in 5-10 years. Perfect for undergrowing roses and shrubs. Planted for its foliage, this robust, hardy male fern displays arching, erect fronds of deep green leaves. Handsomely crested at the tips of the fronds and pinnae. Suitable for moist but well drained, acidic, alkaline or neutral soils. This is a Winter hardy variety and can be positioned in full shade to part shade. This superb fern has received the RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
