It’s a fascinating piece of the early XIX century history

originating from Rome, Italy

 

Crafted in silver with exceptional attention to details,

this ornate sugar bowl features a trumpet shaped lid with goat finial, 

gadrooned stepped edge, 

folate flared over-hanging bowl top, 

round embossed bowl, 

round trumpet shaped pedestal base.

 

Bearing a maker’s mark:  "FI3G"

(initials are inside lozenge), 

belonging to renowned artist Filippo Grimaldi, 

Roma (1803 - 1848)

 

Each of the silver-gilt teaspoons is incredibly detailed, 

bearing a Crossed Key - Papal States hallmark & coronet
