The paper was folded and sealed with wax when it was sent to hardware merchants in Macon, Georgia from James H D Worsham of Bibb County, ordering supplies for repairing a buggy. Worsham was form in 1831 and died in 1907, attended Medical College of the State of South Carolina, Charleston, SC. In the census of 1860 he is shown as a slave owner of three people. He was mustered into the Confederate Army as Pvt., Co D, 30th GA Infantry and became the Company Physician.
 This letter has a severe Y-shaped tear in the paper.
