This is a rare fossil collected from the Frodingham Ironstone Formation, Scunthorpe Quarry, Lincolnshire, England. The specimen contains an ammonite (Aegasteroceras sp.) This was collected over 20 years ago and has been beautifully prepared. Jurassic era, approx 200 million years old, excellent preservation of the original ammonite shell (Chamosite) and it displays very well !

Ammonite measures approx 5.8cm in diameter, with the entire specimen measuring approx 9.7cm x 5.2cm x 2.4cm.
