Marie Antoinette Clock, 1996 Franklin Mint Offering

Cobalt Blue Porcelain Case w/ Gold Gilt Trim and 60+ Faux Diamond Crystals

Runs w/ 2 Bell French Strike

Item Description

Here is a unique and great looking Marie Antoinette Clock for your buying consideration.  Beautiful antique white onyx case clock  here. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself.

This clock was recently acquired from a party whom had a lot of Franklin Mint items in his  collection.  Offered here is the Marie Antoinette Clock that Franklin Mint issued in 1996.  Has a cobalt blue porcelain case with 22k gold gilt trim adorning the entire piece.  The case is shaped like a lyre.  The case was crafted in Malaysia, the movement comes from Germany.  The clock is fashioned after the original that at the time was held by the Victoria and Albert Museum.  Some very minor surface scratching to the case.  Nice sunburst finial on the top of the clock case.  Has 60+ faux diamond crystals around the bezel of the clock.  All still there.

This fine vintage clock is being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a high end auction house or clock shop.  We have been selling clocks out of our home for over 35 years.  We are therefore better positioned to control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don't have the overhead that the high end auction houses and clock shops experience.

This clock is just beautiful.  We have acquired a few of these clocks in the past 25 years and they never last long.  So, do not miss this one.  No original box or paper materials come with this offering.  The clock will come with a wind key, not the original.

Nice brass movement on this clock.  The clock has been running well since we acquired it.  Made by Franz Hermle of Germany.  The clock has a two bell French strike.  Strikes once on the half hour and the number of hours on the hour. The clock does strike as expected.  So, selling this clock in running and striking condition.

The clock stands 15.25" tall, by 6-5/8" across, by 4" wide.  The clock face is 2.5" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.

We are selling this clock in running and striking condition at this juncture, no warranty intended.  There is no representation that the clock is in original condition, or will continue to be in working order.

The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well.  With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description.
We also have the pair of urns that Franklin Mint made that match up well with this clock to make it a clock and garniture set.  Also done in the cobalt blue finish and 22kt gold gilt trim like the clock.  The urns, which you hardly ever see come to the market place, are for sale separately on our online store site.  The listing number for the urns is 124753176201.  One seller is offering the clock and urn set currently for $2,995, another site has the set available for $2,500.

As can be expected when dealing with a vintage clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate.  If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, we would suggest you steer clear.  One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art.  They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks.  Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.

Make sure that this item meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it.   The item can be returned, there is a 20% fee of the Item and Shipping Costs, plus 100% of both Shipping Costs to do so.  So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, read the complete listing description, ask all the questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it.
