Das Produkt dient zur Erkennung der HF-Signalleistung, Erkennungsfrequenzbereich 0,1 bis 2,4 GHz, kann die Leistung eines HF-Signals von -72 dBm bis -2 dBm erkennen, ein solches HF-Signal wird in einen Gleichspannungsausgang umgewandelt. Je höher die Amplitude oder Leistung des HF-Signals, desto höher die Ausgangsspannung. Die Ausgangsspannung ist proportional zum Logarithmus der Eingangssignalamplitude und erweitert so den Dynamikbereich des erkannten Signals auf bis zu 70 dB.
