A very good and a well-preserved copy of the first edition of Walt Disney's Fantasia, the animated musical extravaganza film in eight segments set to classical music and conducted by Leopold Stokowski who also writes the forward to this book. The book is written by Deems Taylor who collaborated with Stokowski on the theatrical production and played the shows Master of Ceremonies. It includes dozens of full color illustrations featuring many of the 500 animated characters in the film including of course Mickey Mouse. Condition: Large folio (13" x 9 3/4"), pages (1-10), 11-157, (1), dozens of full color illustrations throughout (many are tipped in). Publishers' light grey cloth with blue print to the front and spine. Several light stains and finger smudges to the cloth boards with some smudging to the print on the front cover and some softening to the spine ends. The interior is clean and unmarked with just the remnants of a book plate (barely visible) that was removed from the front decorated colored endpaper. Overall, a very nice and very collectible example of this 1940 first edition.
