Altar Missal (13” x 9”) in fine binding with ornate gilt tooling. New spine with earlier backstrip laid
down. Printed in red and black on fine
laid paper. Containg the entire Ordinary
and Propers of the Mass per the Council of Trent. Engraved title plus eleven full page plates
and extensive historiated initials and vignettes throughout text. All edges gilt. Binding firm with resewn textblock. Wanting title page. Interior has signs of
wear with browning and candlewax stains, esp. at the Canon. Numerous minor page repairs with one leaf
having major repairs with lost text neatly hand written (see illustration). Calendar of feasts has neatly handwritten notes cut off at margins. Collation
[64]; 624; cxiiii (4); & 12.
