Cloth soft covers have mucky marks – front and back – see photos. The spine is slightly coming away from the binding at the front (see 3rd photo). Although this means the binding is a bit delicate everything is attached and no pages have come loose. The covers are also firmly attached. This photo also shows some writing in pencil and ink at the top of the first leaf and a Technical Brighton College stamp at the bottom. There are no other stamps in the book.

The endpapers at the back are mucky. There are some pencilled annotations on pages viii and page 1 (see photo 8) and another pencilled word on page 17 (see photo 9). Apart from the marks mentioned and shown in the photos the text of the book is completely clean. There are 73 pages. The text is illustrated throughout with b&w photos and diagrams.

This is a very nice copy of a first edition of this wonderful book.
