ANTIQUE 20TH CENTURY DEFIANCE PEERLESS WHITE STAR FIXED GLOBE KEROSENE RR ? LANTERN

In overall good antique condition. Estimated age is early 20th Century (see last photo for an illustration of a similar lantern found in the 1891 Hibbard, Spencer,Bartlett & Co. catalog) I do not know if this was a lantern for specific railroad use or not??? It is marked "WHITE STAR" and the globe is marked "BERGER".  The "W. V & B." burner is missing its round adjuster ring (see 17th & 18th photo). We will include an additional fully functional round wick burner which retains its adjuster ring as shown in the 22nd and 23rd photos. Small area of solder separation on base (see 20th photo) plus solder joint separation on center/side wire globe protector (see 21st photo). It stands approximately 17.75" tall with the handle folded down and 17" tall with the handle elevated. Some light surface rust present as shown in the photos.

A photocopy from an old catalog advertisement came with the lantern and is included with the sale. Unfortunately the description in this copy is illegible.

Please view all of the 24 photos provided that clearly represent the lantern's condition and please ask any question(s) you may have prior to purchasing.
