Early 1900's Johannesburg, California,?? Kern County, Advertising Watch Fob From A Shoe Store.  Pictured on the reverse is an Indian in a canoe navigating down a river.  I don't know for certain if its is from California, but I know its not from Johannesburg South Africa, and I could not find any other Johannesburg in the United States except for Michigan, and there are no tokens from there listed in the Michigan Trade tokens book by Paul Cunningham.  Johannesburg, was an old gold mining town, founded in the 1880's, today it still has a couple hundred residents living there. The watch fob is nickel plated brass, approximately 38 mm by 42 mm in size, and in very fine condition.  It is an attractive scenic watch fob.
