The HDC-TM40 features still picture capture at 2.1 MP. When playing back video, you can create 2.1 MP images from a single video frame. Thanks to the camera's powerful optical image stabilization and fast frame rates, the single frames you isolate out can transform into high-quality blur-free images.
Despite the camera's light weight it still manages to sport a powerful battery that lasts up to 135 minutes per charge. The camera's low 2.5 W power consumption makes it easy to shoot more and charge less. Going on a long trip where you won't have access to a charger? Panasonic also makes a high capacity battery that lasts up to 2x as long. The camera's built-in 16 GB internal memory allows for plenty of recording for those long trips. The internal memory can be supplemented by inserting an SD, SDHC, or SDXC into the camera's card slot.
The HDC-TM40 provides a host of connectivity options that help you get the most out of your HD video recordings. Connect to an HDTV or Blu-ray player to watch video on the big screen. Viera Link lets you connect your recorder to a Viera TV or Blu-ray player and control both units with a single remote. For recordings saved on an SD card you can view them on a compatible Viera TV or Blu-ray player effortlessly thanks to Panasonic's Viera Image Viewer technology.
