The Film Stars cards are loose with no album and are an incomplete set of fourteen cards. Thirteen of the cards are believed to have been issued by C & T Bridgewater in 1937 and are thought to be 5th series cards with the reference numbers: 1, 6, 7, 8, 20, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 35, 41 and 46. One of the cards is an anomaly which has a photographic image on it depicting the actor Charles Laughton and a reference number of 19 but this card does not appear to exactly match any known cards in any of the 8 series issued by C & T Bridgewater from 1932 to 1940 with the nearest being a 4th series card issued in 1935 which has the same image but has the reference number 5 instead of 19. The reason for this anomalous card has not been ascertained. A number of the different series cards issued by C & T Bridgewater are thought to have been colourised but it has not been ascertained if these fourteen cards originally came without colourisation or were colourised and the colour has subsequently been lost from them over time. There does appear to be some fading apparent to some of the photographic images on some of the cards. There is varyingly discolouration apparent to the cards and various stains, dirt and foxing marks on them with some cards more affected than others. There are a few creases and imprinted marks noticeable on a few of the cards and the edges of the cards appear slightly scuffed and worn with some indentation marks apparent in a few as well as some slight softening and rounding to the tips of the corners a few of which are slightly dog-eared. The cards are curved. The approximate size if each card is 28mm x 49mm. The approximate combined weight of the fourteen cards is 6g.
