The CH8 was only made from 1996-1998. The Clip Hanger series were made for hikers These knives come with a removable clip and lanyard that made it easy to unclip the clip from a piece of gear or from a belt loop (leaving the lanyard strap attached to the knife) or the lanyard could be unclipped at the knife itself.
