1390-1408 Spain 1 Blanca (2 Coronado)

Henry III of Castile & Leon, Burgos Mint

Hammered Issue. 2.06 grams, Billon (Debased Silver Alloy)

NGC XF40

Obverse castle. Reverse lion rampant, "B" for Burgos Mint below. Inscription: "King Henry by the grace of God." Very smooth, satiny surfaces, with a full lion and no major weakness for this notoriously shallowly struck, hammered issue. It also seems to have little actual wear, making it pretty nice for "XF." Choice patina, with rich warm slate grey color, with no spots or roughness. A very pleasing piece for the price range.
