For sale is a lidded dish made of some sort of ceramic possibly made by Sinceny in about 1770 but in all honesty I am fairly lost on this one. Might be French or even Italian but it certainly has lots of age to it. It is hand painted with flowers copying the petit feu designs of Strasbourg . There is one large flower arrangement, large single flowers and smaller sprigs. Interesting design to top of knob on the lid. Very much in the style of Rouen . The pot and lid are in superb condition with lots of small black firing spots. It is marked underneath with an iron red SP mark as well as an impressed circular mark made up of dots. The set is 4.25 inches tall as well as in diameter. 18th century maiolica majolica Fayenze
