Antiquarian, treatise written by eighteenth century Swiss philosopher and physician Johann Georg Ritter von Zimmermann.  Originally written in German but on offer is an English edition of a French translation by J.B. Mercier:

The publisher in the advertisement page suggests this is a more complete edition of the work compared to a similar title published by "The Associated Booksellers" which contains only partial extracts

Hardback, 420 pages, 14 cm by 21.5 cm.

Acceptable condition.

Wear to the cover. Front board is only weakly attached via the binding threads and there is some loss of leather from the book spine. Binding intact. End papers are splitting in the hinge region and have some pencil writing and marks. Some marks and browning to the frontispiece and title page.  There are occasional marks on the inner pages. A few brown marks / stains to back pages.
